Maya Yates

Silver Tutor: 1530 SAT

Hello! I'm Maya Yates, and I'm excited to share that I recently graduated high school as the Class of 2023 Valedictorian and Rancho Campana High School with a 4.6 GPA. The next chapter of my academic journey is taking me to the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), where I'm on a premed track. My current plan is to major in Microbiology, Immunology, and Molecular Genetics, while also minoring in Neuroscience.

During my high school years, I took on some incredible projects. I became a published author, writing a book aimed at uplifting cancer patients for my Girl Scout Gold Award. By sharing the stories of other cancer survivors, my goal was to offer readers hope and positivity. I also had the opportunity to speak at a TedX event, focusing on the subject of Self Identity, which was incredibly rewarding.

Besides writing and public speaking, I was actively involved in various international clubs like Key Club, HOSA, and of course, Girl Scouts. I've also dipped my toes into the world of clinical research.

During my senior year, I collaborated closely with Laura Whitmore, the Company Founder and CEO. Thanks to Laura's expertise and dedicated approach, my test scores soared by 230 points! I know how it feels to aim for higher scores, and now I want to lend a hand to students who are in the same boat.

On a final note, I was admitted to several prestigious institutions, including UCLA, UC Berkeley (where I was awarded The Regents' and Chancellor's Scholarship), University of Southern California (USC), University of Michigan, all the UC campuses, and Cal Poly Slo. Now, I'm eager to use my experiences to help you achieve your academic dreams. Looking forward to working together!
