Not all Bluebook SAT practice tests are created equal.
Some are far more representative of what students are actually seeing on official Digital SAT exams today, while others include outdated concepts or feel noticeably easier than the real thing. If you want your practice to accurately predict your real score and prepare you for test day, test selection matters.
Below is my ranked list of the best Bluebook SAT practice tests, based on authenticity, difficulty, and alignment with current testing trends.
🥇 1. Test 11 (Best Overall)
Test 11 is the gold standard.
It’s the newest test of the bunch, and it most closely reflects what College Board is administering right now in 2026.
Why it stands out:
The English modules are legitimately difficult.
I recognized at least five passages from sitting in on real, official SAT administrations.
When students complained that the real tests felt harder than practice, College Board clearly listened. This test closes that gap.
The math content matches current testing priorities extremely well.
The downside:
If you’re strong with advanced Desmos strategies, the math can feel a bit easy.
A few concepts are tested twice within the same exam, which I’m not a fan of. If a student misses the concept once, they’re likely missing it both times. I’d like to see more concept diversity.
Bottom line:If you only take one practice test, make it Test 11.

🥈 2. Test 7
Test 7 earns second place because it was the only truly all-new test released in 2025.
That matters more than most students realize.
Practicing with current material is critical. You don’t want to waste time on concepts that simply aren’t tested anymore (looking at you, imaginary numbers).
Why Test 7 is valuable:
It pairs beautifully with Test 11.
It emphasizes math concepts that show up constantly on real exams:
Consecutive odd integers
Complementary angles rules
The structure and difficulty feel modern and relevant.
Bottom line: Test 7 + Test 11 is a very strong practice combo.

🥉 3. Tests 5 & 6 (Tie)
Released in 2024, Tests 5 and 6 are still highly relevant and noticeably more difficult than many others in the Bluebook set.
Why they’re strong:
Both English and Math are tougher overall.
These tests introduced regression-based Desmos questions, which are now a key strategy students must know.
English passages are challenging and well-aligned with current expectations.
Bottom line:Excellent mid-to-late prep tests once foundational skills are solid.

4. Tests 8, 9, & 10
Despite being released in 2025, these tests are a mixed bag.
They combine:
Old questions from discontinued Tests 1, 2, and 3
Some newer material
My honest take:
The math modules lean too easy.
I scored perfectly on these tests and remember thinking, “Am I missing something?” I wasn’t.
While the concepts still appear on the real SAT, the difficulty level does not.
I’ve sat in on four official Digital SATs, and these are easier than the real thing.
Important note:If you use these tests, mentally adjust your score downward when estimating your real SAT score.

5. Test 4 (Worst Overall)
Test 4 is, by far, the weakest option.
Released in 2023, it contains many math topics that are no longer tested.
How (and how not) to use it:
❌ Not great for math practice
✅ Still usable for English, which has remained more consistent over time
Bottom line:Use sparingly, and mostly for English only.
Final Tip: Use the College Board Question Bank
Practice tests aren’t your only official resource.
The College Board Question Bank contains hundreds of additional, unique SAT questions that do not appear in Bluebook tests.
A brand-new batch was released in August 2025, making this an incredibly valuable tool.
Pro tip:When using the question bank, check the box labeled “filter out active questions.” This ensures you’re only practicing questions that don’t appear on the Bluebook tests.
