Joyce is a UC Berkeley graduate who studied cognitive science. She scored a 1550 on the SAT (770 Reading & Writing, 780 Math) and a 35 on the ACT (35 English, 35 Math, 34 Reading, 36 Science), giving her firsthand experience with both exams and the preparation required to succeed on them.

Joyce first developed her passion for teaching in high school, when she started her own piano teaching business and taught elementary and middle school students in her neighborhood. Since then, she has taught and tutored students in a variety of settings, including coding camps, math tutoring, and a UC Berkeley student-run course on 3D animation.

Through these experiences, she discovered how rewarding it is to help students build confidence, overcome challenges, and develop skills they can carry with them beyond the classroom.

Outside of tutoring, Joyce is a freelance web developer and enjoys relaxing at cute cafes with her dog.
