If you’re taking the September 2025 SAT, you’re probably wondering what kinds of questions, rules, and problem types you should focus on as test day approaches. After 18+ years of coaching students, scoring a 1590 on the SAT, and releasing the very first SAT predictions video back in 2022, I’ve developed a reputation for calling what’s going to show up on the test.

This blog post breaks down my Top 10 Predictions for the September SAT—covering both English and Math—so you can study smarter and maximize your score.

Don’t feel like reading? Watch the full YouTube video here where I walk through each problem step-by-step.

🔮 Prediction 1: Boundaries Question (English)

ree

👉 Expect at least one question testing whether you can correctly separate two complete sentences. Always start by scanning the answer choices—only one will truly separate two complete thoughts.

🔮 Prediction 2: Constant vs. Coefficient (Math)

ree

👉 Look for problems that ask whether a number remains visible in the equation after simplification. Plug in zero for variables to check whether constants or coefficients carry over into the solution.

🔮 Prediction 3: Lead-In Grammar Question (English)

ree

👉 These questions feature a phrase at the beginning of the sentence followed by a blank. Your task? Identify the correct subject that matches the lead-in.

The subject should be the next word/words immediately following the comma!

🔮 Prediction 4: Unit Circle (Math)

ree

👉 The unit circle has resurfaced in recent SAT material, and I predict it will appear in September. Be ready to work with radians, quadrants, and angle measures.

Tip: Remember, All Students Take Calculus (helps you determine what is positive in quadrants I through IV).

Tip: Remember that there are 2pi radians in a full rotation.

🔮 Prediction 5: Comma Placement Rule (English)

ree

👉 If a description comes before a name, you don’t need commas. For example: Linguist Diane Msum...

🔮 Prediction 6: Perpendicular Slope (Math)

ree

👉 You’ll likely see a question asking for the slope of a perpendicular line. Remember: find the slope of the given line, then use the negative reciprocal.

🔮 Prediction 7: Subject-Verb Agreement (English)

ree

👉 Classic question type. If you have verb tenses as your answers, use the pronoun substitution trick (“he” vs. “they”) to spot whether the verb should be singular or plural. Choose the one that is different than the others.

🔮 Prediction 8: Interpreting Equations or Inequalities (Math)

ree

👉 Expect to interpret an entire term (e.g., 14y) in context. Look for answer choices that describe total quantities and match the variable’s meaning in the problem.

🔮 Prediction 9: Apostrophes Trick (English)

ree

👉 When in doubt, use majority rules: if three answer choices handle apostrophes one way and one looks odd, eliminate the outlier.

🔮 Prediction 10: Density Formula (Math)

ree

👉 Though less common, I’m predicting a density = mass ÷ volume problem this September. Memorize this formula since it’s not provided on the reference sheet.

🔥 Final Tip: Work smarter, not harder. Use tools like Desmos strategically, look for clues in the problem setup, and always double-check your unit conversions and answer formats.
